Dr. Ayo is especially interested in creating healthy cultural self-concepts and images using fun educational methods through video and films. In the spring of 2010, Dr. Ayo produced a video production, The Imhotep Program, for Cheyney University of Pennsylvania's campus TV. Dr. Ayo had previously created the program in 1985 in Lorain, Ohio and brought the program to The Lincoln University in PA. The Imhotep Program is a game show similar to the popular TV show Jeopardy. Imhotep was the Black multi-genius from Kemet (Egypt). Imhotep built the first step pyramid. He was an engineer, architect, mathematician, chemist, poet, physician, and visor to the Pharoh Djozer. The Imhotep Program was designed to teach wellness from a mental, physical, financial, academic, and spiritual perspective. Students competed for prizes as they learned about African Centered/Black Psychology, fields of study in behavioral health and how to become campus leaders.
